Detailed Analysis of Slot 2 CAT 2020 Exam
Update- CAT 2020 was conducted on 29th November in three different shifts Morning (8:30 am -10:30 am), Afternoon (12.30 – 2.30), and Evening (4 .30 pm- 6.30 pm).
CAT 2020 is a pre-requisite exam for getting entry into 20 IIMs and many other prestigious institutions like FMS Delhi, Delhi School of Economics, JBIMS Mumbai, IMI Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad, UBS Chandigarh, GIM Goa, LBSIM Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, etc.CAT 2020 was conducted on 29 November in three different slots – Slot 1, Slot 2, and Slot 3.There was a total of 76 Questions asked in the examination. Slot 1 was easy in comparison to slot 3.
Candidates reviewed it that in the CAT 2020, the overall difficulty level for slot 3 was lying between moderate to difficult. The VARC section is considered to be comparatively tough. Quantitative Ability Section questions were asked at a moderate level. In Slot 1 and Slot 2, the DILR section was long and tough in comparison to Slot 3. Candidates who appeared for Slot 2 of CAT 2020 found that the questions asked in the CAT 2020 Exam were of moderate to difficult in concern of difficulty level of exam.
Same as last year of CAT, the Quantitative Ability section remained the difficult section and Verbal Ability section was at an easy level and the DI& LR section was found to be of moderate difficulty level.
CAT 2020 – Slot 2nd Analysis
CAT 2020 second slot was scheduled to be happening from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. IIM Indore already released the changes in the exam pattern of CAT 2020. The time duration of the CAT 2020 exam has been reduced to 2 hours from 3 hours. With the decrease in duration of the CAT 2020 exam, no significant changes have been done in CAT 2020 Exam.
CAT 2020 2nd Slot Key Highlights
The CAT 2020 for the second slot followed the same marking pattern as CAT 2019. There were no changes brought in CAT 2020 Exam. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks and for every wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.

Being a consulting firm for Different segments for different courses like MBA / PGDM, B.Tech, and MBBS. We have reached to a great number of students who appeared in the CAT 2020 exam in different slots.
After having a conversation with many students who appeared in CAT 2020 Slot 2nd reviewed that DI&LR Section was tougher in comparison to Slot 1st. Candidates also found that the Quantitative Section was even longer and toughest. In fact, few students found the VA & RC Section more difficult than QA and DI& LR.
We can conclude that the level of difficulty in the CAT 2020 exam for Slot 2nd was a bit difficult as compared to Slot 1st. Depending on review from many candidates who gave cat 2020 in 2nd slots we have given a rough idea of scores and percentile below –

The first section in CAT 2020 for the first slot was the Verbal Section. Total 26 Questions asked in exam 18 from RC and 8 from VA. The second section was DI& LR and the third was Quantitative Ability. In the second section DI& LR, the no of questions was 24 and in the third section, the no of questions asked was 26. Every Section has a time limit of 40 minutes. The candidate could not jump to other sections before the time limit of 40 min each. Every Section marking scheme was the same as CAT 2019. For every Right answer candidates will be awarded 3 marks for every wrong answer there will be a negative marking of 1 mark. For TITA questions there no negative marking and for every right TITA Question 2 marks will be given.
VARC Section Analysis
The VA-RC section was the same as the first slot. The difficulty level of the questions asked in this section lies from moderate to difficult. Reading Comprehension had 4 passages —2 passages with 4-4 Questions each and 2 passages with 5- 5 questions each. Verbal Ability had the same types of questions like questions based on a summary, Odd one out sentence, and Para Jumbles.

The no of the set of questions in Slot 2nd was the same as slot 1. DI & LR section was considered to be the toughest in CAT 2020 Exam. There were little changes introduced with no. of the question in different sets of DI. There was a total of 5 sets of DI of which two of them included 6-6 Questions rest has 4-4 questions each. One of the DI has 4 TITA Questions and the other two have 4-4 MCQs.
DI&LR Section included 3 DI Set of Questions and 2 Set of LR Questions. This section was reviewed as the toughest section of the exam.

In CAT 2020, the QA section includes questions of medium to difficult levels. Almost 09 Questions were asked from Arithmetic Topics like Time, Speed & Distance and Mixtures & Alligations and 7 questions from Algebra . 4 questions were asked from Advanced Maths, and 5 from Geometry and one question were asked from Numbers.
This section questions were considered from moderate to difficult. Total 8 TITA questions asked in CAT 2020 from this section. The no. of question considered o be good is 18 for these sections
This Section can be considered to be tougher than CAT 2019. This section still remained long as in past record of the CAT Exam.
