FMS Delhi and The Red Building of Dreams is a leading business school located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1954 under the umbrella of the University of Delhi and is often cited as one of the best business schools in India.The institute was started at the Delhi School of Economics premises under Dean A. Dasgupta of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE).

The department of commerce of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) now, the Delhi Technological University (DTU), was abolished and the Faculty of Management Studies was established.

Placement Highlights 

The placement process at FMS Delhi was divided into two parts, the Lateral and the Final placement processes.

Students with greater than 12 months of work experience prior to their MBA participated in the Lateral placement process in December 2019. Subsequently, the Final placement process for the remaining students was held in January 2020.

To encourage entrepreneurship, FMS provides a placement holiday to students who wish to pursue their own ventures and allows them to participate in a subsequent placement process for up to two years, in case they want to avail the opportunity.

♦ For MBA Full Time Programme

  • For Indian Candidates

Applicants can register themselves for admission to MBA Programme (2021– 203) through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration form and by paying the requisite registration fee of Rs. 1000 (Rs. 350 for SC/ST/PWD/EWS), between October 10, 2019 and November 25, 2019.

  • Foreign Nationals

All Foreign Nationals seeking admission to MBA programme should apply through the office of the Deputy Dean (Foreign Students), Conference Centre, opposite Botany Department, University of Delhi, Delhi–110 007, India, latest by February 28, 2021. Such Foreign Nationals needs to secure GMAT score of 650. FMS may restrict admissions to two candidates from each continent.

Selection Parametres

An additional 3 marks shall be added to the Composite Score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of short listing. This composite score shall be used only for short listing the candidates for Interview Process

To encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines, for the purpose of short listing candidates for Interview Process different weight ages shall be assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT 2020.

A composite score shall be computed giving weight ages of 30%, 30%, and 40% to the scores of QA, DI/LR and VRC sections respectively as provided by the CAT Centre for the CAT 2020 Examination for candidates who apply to FMS.

♦ For Doctrol Programme

Applicants can register themselves for admission to Ph.D. Programme through FMS website http://www.fms.edu by filling up online registration form and by paying the requisite registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 350 for SC/ST/PWD/EWS), between October 10, 2019 and November 25, 2019.

Short listed candidates will thereafter be required to submit the registration form to the Board of Research Studies at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, latest by February 28, 2020.

Admissions of Ph.D. candidates shall be governed by the rules of Board of Research Studies as per the guidelines of Delhi University

♦ For MBA Executive and MBA Executive Health Care

Applicants can register themselves for admission to MBA Executive and MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) programmes by fillingup online application form and by paying therequisite fee of Rs. 1000forGeneral, OBCandCW(Rs. 350for SC/ST/PWD/EWS category) candidates for each Programme, between October 10, 2019 and November 25, 2019. The eligible candidates shall be selected for admission to programmes on the basis of following components –

Qualifying Examination - Bachelor’s Degree Programme.

Minimum Percentage of Marks –50% of marks at graduation level for General Candidates / 45% of marks at graduation level for SC/ST: Passing Marks; OBC/PWD/CW.

Final Year – Final year student can also apply.

Note - Candidates appearing in the final year examination of Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply for admission irrespective of their percentage of scores obtained till the time of application, provided that they expect to fulfil the eligibility criteria when their results are declared and which must be submitted to the FMS office at the time of admission to the programme.

 

 Doctoral Program

Age – No Age Bar

Qualifying Exam - The candidates should have Master’s degree or a professional degree in Management Studies or allied subjects, declared equivalent to the Master’s degree.

Minimum Percentage of Marks - At least 55% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, will be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of University of Delhi from time to time.

On the basis of Nationality 

  • Indian Candidates - CAT 2020 Scores

Candidates (except those exempted from admission test as detailed below) seeking admission to the doctoral programme, are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 to be conducted by Indian Institutes of Management Indore on November 29, 2020

Exemption from PhD Entrance Examination (CAT 2020)

  • Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/AYUSH-NET or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder.
  • Teachers, who are in service in the University of Delhi.
  • Candidates holding Junior Research Fellowships or equivalent research positions in projects, satisfying the minimum eligibility conditions (subject to selection by duly constituted committee as per the University norms for research projects).
  • Scientists/professionals working at R&D institutes of the Government of India/State Government with whom the University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding subject to fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates who are exempted from the entrance (CAT 2020) also must get registered in the online admission portal to be eligible for interview.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Foreign Nationals 

Foreign Nationals with Indian or foreign degrees, but who are not currently staying in India, need to apply via the respective Consulate/Embassy with a mandatory minimum GMAT Score of 650.Such candidates should havefellowshipfromtheircountryoforiginand/orrecognizedinternational agencies. Foreign Nationals with foreign   degrees are required to submit both GMAT as well as TOEFL scores.

All Foreign Nationals will be required to fill the form of Board of Research Studies, Faculty of Management Studies, and University of Delhi if selected for the Ph.D. Programme. The form should be submitted along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Delhi, Delhi–110007.

Foreign Nationals are also required to submit a research proposal, clearly indicating research objective, methodology and a tentative bibliography along with the form.

All Foreign Nationals seeking admission to Ph.D. Programme should apply through the office of the Deputy Dean (Foreign Students), Conference Centre, opposite Botany Department, University of Delhi, Delhi–110 007, India, latest by February 28, 2020.

 

MBA Executive Programme

Age – No Age Bar

Qualifying Exam -Three-year Bachelor’s Degree programme.

Minimum Percentage of Marks - Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in any of the disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, social Sciences, Law, Sciences, Mathematics/ Statistics, Medicine, Engineering or Technology.

Work Experience - At least five years of experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial/government establishment/registered organization after passing the Bachelor’s degree examination. Experience shall be determined as on the 1st April of the year of admission.

 

 MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme

Age- No Age Bar

Qualifying Examination - Bachelor Degree having secured minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade in any discipline such as Medicine (MBBS)/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS or Master Degree  in Biotechnology/ Genomics/ Genetics/ Nursing/ Bioengineering/ Alternative Systems of Medicine/ Paramedical Discipline/ Pharmacology/ Anthropology/ Zoology.

Minimum Percentage of Marks – Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade in any discipline such as Medicine (MBBS)/BDS/ BAMS/BUMS/BHMS or Master Degree with 55% marks in Biotechnology/ Genomics/ Genetics/ Nursing/ Bioengineering/ Alternative Systems of Medicine/ Paramedical Discipline/ Pharmacology/ Anthropology/ Zoology.

The Master / Bachelor’s degree should be of the University of Delhi or any other recognized University/ deemed University/ Institute.

Work Experience - The candidate should have at least five years of experience as an executive or in an administrative position in a public or private or autonomous/ registered Health Care Organization or in Health Sector after acquiring the Bachelor’s degree.

Collection of over 50,000 books, over 100 journals (including 60 foreign journals), 12 news papers, and many other resources like thesis, student's project reports, CDs, various reports, economic surveys reports, etc.The library, spread over 5178 sq. ft., also provides access to the best of business and management related digital resources through university network subscription to various databases consisting of scholarly and industry relevant content. A branch library with a sprawling reading room functions at S.P.Jain Advanced Management Research Center, South Campus.Both the libraries are well stocked with textbooks, reference books and other documents. Along with this the students have access to the Ratan Tata Library which has a collection of over 200,000 books and over 1,000 journals on management and economics

♦ Computers - Modern computer centres with over 100 computer systems (Intel Dual Core and AMD Athlon) in its north campus facility. Along with this computers are available in the library, class rooms and lecture theaters while faculty has individual computers and laser printers in their rooms

♦ Hostel- Hostel accommodation facilities are available to the students of MBA (Full-Time) Programme at the Post Graduate hostels of the University of Delhi. The students should directly contact the office of the concerned hostel and apply according to their admission procedures.
